There’s something about a recipe handed down on a notecard, scribbled in the margins of a cookbook, or swapped between neighbors. It’s not just about the ingredients—it’s about the stories stirred in, the memories baked in, the local flavors that turn a dish into something special. That’s the inspiration for our new community project: The Grow Community Cookbook: Sharing Homegrown Goodness.
This isn’t just a collection of recipes. It’s a love letter to our local makers, homemade happiness, and the meals that bring neighbors together. Whether you’re a seasoned home chef, an experimental baker, or the type who only measures with your heart, we want you at our table.
Why a Cookbook?
We believe the best meals start close to home. The Grow will soon be full of growers, bakers, creators, candle-makers, and culinary creatives who turn everyday ingredients into something worth sharing. The Grow Community Cookbook is our way of celebrating that magic and inviting all to join.
This cookbook is a curated collection of recipes and projects that highlight the flavors and makers of our community. We’re talking about everything from citrus-glazed cakes made with backyard fruit to homemade scrubs using locally harvested honey. If it comes from the heart (and ideally a local source), it belongs here.
How to Participate
You can submit your recipes by using our submission form.
We’re looking for:
- Recipes that use at least one locally sourced ingredient
- Culturally diverse dishes
- Kid-friendly favorites
- Seasonal and holiday highlights
- Non-edible recipes like body scrubs, candles, or other creations that use locally-grown goods
- A short note about what inspired your creation or the kind of reactions it generates when you share it with friends and family
Monthly recipe themes will also be shared to support the use of seasonal ingredients readily available in Central Florida, so stay tuned and follow us on Instagram or Facebook to see those announcements every month.
Let’s Grow Something Together
Whether you’re sharing Grandma’s secret biscuit recipe or a family-favorite fishing bait you’ve perfected over the years, we’d be honored to include your creation in this community keepsake. It’s about more than food—it’s about connection. And when we come together around the table, good things really do grow.
So grab your apron, pull out those recipe cards, and let’s make something wonderful. Check out the terms & conditions for submission guidelines.
