Mission + Guiding Principles

“Agriculture must mediate between nature and the human community, with ties and obligations in both directions.” – Wendell Berry

Mission Statement

The farm at The Grow is a gathering place—a living link between neighbors, nourishment, and the natural beauty that surrounds us.

Through the centuries, food has been the bedrock of cultures and civilizations. The Grow celebrates this tradition by nurturing joy, togetherness, and meaningful life experiences centered around reconnecting with the land and its bounty: food. With fresh, healthy harvests year-round and a vibrant calendar of hands-on programming, we invite individuals, families, and the community as a whole to learn, live, and thrive together, season after season.

Guiding Principles

The core values of the farm at The Grow are harvested from Pulte’s award-winning 70-year legacy of quality craftsmanship and timeless community building. Inside Orlando’s first agrihood, Pulte’s vision has grown beyond bricks and mortar to cultivate deeper relationships with nature, agriculture, homegrown food, and each other. These are the principles that flourish at The Grow.

Nourish

Food is our foundation. We grow, share, and savor it to strengthen bodies, hearts, and community. From farm-to-table dinners and seasonal harvest celebrations to hands-on lessons in preparing fresh, nutritious meals and a community-sourced cookbook that honors traditions passed through generations, we are committed to nourishing both our bodies and our minds.

Rooted

We tend the land beneath our feet and celebrate the abundance that grows naturally in our very own backyards. Our community happily rolls up their sleeves to honor The Grow’s natural habitat, joining in native plant workshops, guided farm tours, and interactive learning experiences to explore Florida’s soils, seasons, and local ecosystems.

Reconnect

The farm and gardens at The Grow are a place to reconnect—with ourselves, each other, and the rhythm of nature. By stepping outside the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives, residents at The Grow can participate in meaningful connections like hands-on volunteer days, community potlucks and meals, story circles where neighbors share personal stories about food and the land, and restorative wellness activities like outdoor meditation sessions.

Joy

We harvest joy as intentionally as we cultivate crops. An abundance of laughter, connection, music, and celebration nourishes our spirit. The Farm comes alive with sunset concerts, dancing, and family field days. Neighbors bond over strolls through the farmers market, welcoming happy hours at the silo bar, or interactive planting events.

Community

Strong roots grow from our partnerships. We thrive by working hand in hand with our local schools, small-businesses, restaurants, clubs and organizations, as well as local food purveyors. We work collaboratively and foster lifelong learning through volunteer programs, children’s workshops, and nonprofit initiatives. Through these cherished partnerships, The Grow yields a sustainable and interconnected community.

Grow

We learn best by doing. The farm at The Grow is a living classroom for all ages, celebrating the power of growing food and opening a window to the natural world around us. Our community engages in guided learning sessions with the farm team, participates in native plant and wildlife workshops, and feels connected to the life cycle of food through an array of year-round educational opportunities.
